Austin, TX, January 15, 2013 –As of January 1, 2013, Lynxs has sold its interests in the Lynxs Bogotá CargoPort LLC, an 800,000 square foot air cargo facility at the Bogotá El Dorado International Airport (BOG) which it owned in partnership with Tribeca Asset Management. The sale was made to Grupo Acero, a recently formed company started by former Lynxs executive Robert Althuis. Additionally, Lynxs repurchased Althuis’ interest in all other Lynxs activities and assets, thus ending his involvement in Lynxs projects and properties effective December 31, 2012. These transactions allow Lynxs to focus its efforts and resources on its existing portfolio of projects as well as new ventures in North America, Latin America, and Europe.
Lynxs continues its presence and investment in Latin America and Colombia through a variety of partnerships and joint ventures, including its partnership in AirLogistix, a group of companies Lynxs founded three years ago with well-known Colombian aviation leaders Juan Emilio Posada, Fred Jacobsen, and Maurice Thorin Brauer. AirLogistix owns and operates a number of innovative businesses including ALX Cargo Center IAH LLC, the airside perishables facility at the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), and the AirLogistix Cargo Center BOG SAS, which operates in-bond customs and specialized handling facilities at the Bogotá El Dorado International Airport.
